Does lightening ever strike twice? Well I think it might have to Katherine McGinniss who has a travel horror story to share with you. After I read it I was glad she's decided to never take to the skies again...cause I think she's bad luck!!
You see, 12 years ago Mrs. McGinniss had a bad experience in the air. After her plane made a hard landing in a thunderstorm she told her husband that she would never fly in an airplane again. Oh, but he persisted (as husbands tend to do) and she decided to travel again - yes, the first time in the air since her bad experience over a decade ago.
So what happened? She hit trouble again - big trouble:
Mrs. McGinniss said she immediately noticed an unnerving high-pitch whining sound coming from the engines. She clinched her husband’s hand, hoping all would be OK.Yes, the darn engine blew out. While the flight returned and landed in Dallas safely, Mrs. McGinniss had enough. Husband Ronald continued onto their final destination to attend his meetings. Mrs. McGinniss and the rest of the family stayed safely on the ground in Dallas.
About 15 minutes into the flight, with the plane at about 12,000 feet and having just crept above the clouds, they heard a loud boom.
“I’ve never experienced anything like that,” said Mr. McGinniss, who frequently travels for his job with the U.S. Army. “My feet lifted off the floor from the concussion.”
When Ronald returns she says they are driving back home to North Carolina.
No offense Mrs. McGinniss, but I think that may be the best thing you can do for all of us!
