Someone in Philadelphia has a big sense of humor, and I'm really impressed! On Friday, readers of the Philadelphia Enquirer saw ads for a new airline, called Derrie-Air. With ads saying "Nice Tail" they introduced their fare structure - the extremely buzz-worthy but impractical paying by the pound. Or as they say, "the more you weigh, the more you pay."
But it's really a promotional stunt - and a great one at that. The ads were paid for by the owner of the paper, Philadelphia Media Holdings.
They even built a website and have funny ads rotating on Philly.com. I hope they keep them around for awhile, it's pretty neat. In fact, I'm making these guys the second winners of my recently-made-up Travel Pirates Pure Genius Award.
You know, I've long planned to name my airline Dairy-Air - yes, the same but different - but it would be definitely be based out of Wisconsin...not Philadelphia.
