Fun fact time. Did you know there is an Obama City? In Japan? Well, there is and it's recently become all the rage. You see, since Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has become a household name, Obama City has seen an increase in tourism - especially from American tourists.
Obama means "small beach" in Japanese. Obama City has about 32,000 residents and is located on the far southeast tip of the island and is about five hours from Tokyo by train.
In the video clip above, check out the celebratory dance the Obama ladies did when learning our Obama had clinched the Democratic nomination. It's quite sweet!
What's not so sweet are those Obama souvenirs, sorry but they're a bit scary. Seriously, could they make his ears any bigger? And, I'm sorry but that statue doesn't really look like him at all.
I would definitely try an Obama bean cake however. Most definitely.
